Cool Stuff from Eurobike 2010

New Pugsley (soon to be available as a complete bike):

Surly's new singlewall snow rim, the Rolling Darryl:

This is the coolest thing I've seen so far... Surly's new 26" geared mtb, the Troll.  It appears to be similar to a 1x1, but with new SS/geared dropouts and looks to be designed around an Instigator-sized fork.  If this frame has the same tire clearance as a 1x1, it definitely has me interested.  Shown here with their new trailer:

It is so great to see two local bike manufacturers/designers making an impact. I envision myself owning nothing, but Salsa or Surly products in the future.

coast kid - yeah, the Troll just might be my ideal hardtail mountain bike! I've already started saving for one.

Vito - I agree 100%... between Salsa and Surly I could put together my ultimate collection of bikes. The only thing that is questionable is a 26" full suspension bike... but from what I've seen, I'm pretty sure Salsa will have that covered in 2011.

I'm going through the mental gyrations of deciding whether to get a custom frame fitting Larry's and Hookworms or get a production frame for Hookworms and other plump tires. The Troll is in the running if it can take up to 3" tires like the 1x1. I did discover that the Drakkar can run Hookworms and has a higher bar height than the Troll. But it's limited to 2.5". FTMN, what is the diameter and width of the Hookworm on Large Marges?
Thanks, Todd

Hey Todd,
Sorry it took so long to reply... a Hookworm on a Large Marge measures 73mm (2.8-2.9 inches) wide and 27 inches in diameter. Hope that helps with your decision.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going custom with an odd design to handle both Hookworms and Larry's.
Good luck with your hand.
Best,
Todd

Cool... if you post pics on the web of your custom set-up, send me a link. I'd love to see what you end up with.

Got the pins out of my hand yesterday! One step closer to riding again!!
